Meeting Minutes from September 18, 2008
Present at the Meeting:
Bob Griffin, Stiney Vonderhaar, Catherine Hartman, Pat Casey, and Jim Owens
Topics Discussed:
· Meeting minutes from August 21 briefly reviewed with motion to continue with agenda.
· Catherine and Bob provided history outline. Committee suggested a few additions/changes that are to be incorporated by next meeting.
· Volunteer Day date change suggested due to Halloween Fest on same day. All agreed to maintain original October 18th date, 9am-noon. Joe will not be able to attend, so we will plan to schedule nature walk at later date.
· Committee walked most of the preserve’s trails making a work list for the upcoming Fall Volunteer Clean-up Day: General trail clearing, trash pickup, grass seeding animal blind trail, removing downed trees that are blocking trails, fence repair near pond, cattail removal, remove tree in pond near bridge, and plant 4 trees near parking lot.
· Committee had all positive comments regarding newly added animal blind. It was suggested to add salt block and birdseed.
· Reviewed hillside area to try honeysuckle spray this fall.
Action Items:
· Complete plan for fall volunteer clean-up day.
· Catherine and Bob to provide history outline for signboard posting.
